Geltrex™ LDEV-Free hESC-qualified Reduced Growth Factor Basement Membrane Matrix is a soluble form of basement membrane extracted from murine Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm (EHS) tumors and is free of viruses, including lactose dehydrogenase elevating virus (LDEV), sometimes found in this type of preparation. Routinely used for attachment and maintenance of human embryonic stem cells (hESC), every lot of Geltrex™ LDEV-free hESC-qualified Reduced Growth Factor Basement Membrane Matrix is quality control tested using hESCs and StemPro hESC Serum Free Media to help ensure growth and pluripotency of each lot.

Key Features of Geltrex™ LDEV-Free hESC-qualified Reduced Growth Factor Basement Membrane Matrix:

• Every lot is qualified using hESC, which helps reduce the need for customers to lot screen
• Free of the lactose dehydrogenase elevating virus (LDEV) making it safe for all types of cell culture
• Consistent protein concentration lot-to-lot helps ensure reproducible results

Human ESCs have specific needs for attachment and maintenance and some lots of basement membrane extract may not provide adequate support. Geltrex™ hESC-qualified reduced growth factor basement membrane matrix has been tested for support of hESC growth and pluripotency, therefore minimizing the need for you to test multiple lots to find one that works. Our consistent manufacturing process helps ensure a protein concentration averaging 15 mg/ml with very little variation from lot-to-lot, so you can have confidence in every purchase.

Free of LDEV Contamination
Recent advances in processing EHS tumor cells have resulted in virus free basement membrane extracts. Every lot is tested by tested by RT-PCR methods so you can now have confidence that every lot of Geltrex™ is virus-free.
