Construction and operating mode
The unbalanced motor is a three-phase ac induction motor, on which weights are eccentrically attached at the ends of the running shaft; so-called eccentric weights (flyweights).
Centrifugal forces are generated with rotating waves. The value of these centrifugal forces can be changed by adjustment of the flyweights while the motors are at standstill. The centrifugal forces which the motor generates displace the working device (conduit, table, shaped form) and the conveyed material mass by means of vibrations.
Small Conveyor Equipment (Linear Conveyors)

AViTEQ small-scale conveying equipment is used everywhere fine-grained bulk materials and not too unwieldy mass parts must be delivered, conveyed, dosed, added or assigned from storage tanks. AViTEQ has led the way in producing these devices and drives in Europe for more than 50 years. They are employed in many branches of industry, e.g. in the chemical and plastics industry, the feedstuffs industry, industrial stones and earth, installation and handling technology, the food and luxury goods industry, the paper industry, as well as in sugar works, refineries and foundries

Structure and operating mode
Small-scale conveyor equipment is based on synchronized two-mass vibration systems which are tuned close to resonant condition. The drive part includes the elements for vibration generation, such as electromagnet and leaf spring packages. The vibration amplitude (double amplitude) defines the maximum height of the microthrow and thus the theoretically possible conveying speed. The actual flow rate with bulk material conveying is basically influenced by the conveying cross section, the settled-material density and the conveyability of the bulk material. The small conveying drive is connected with the working device, such as conduit, trough or rail, such that it is easily detachable. Optimal layout design and coordination of the two-mass vibration system guarantee conveying characteristics which are uniform and independent of the working device loading. The small conveying drive is supported on rubber dampers. Vibrations are thus hardly transmitted to the environment.
Drive selection
In the selection of the drive, effective weight is to be considered, particularly the weight of the user device Þ to be screwed on securely. The weight of the material conveyed is itself negligible in the case of the synchronized AViTEQ small conveying drives!! If the effective weight of the series coordination deviates (see table "Effective Weight"), then this must be included with the order, or be made available at the construction site. The maximum admissible effective weight should not be exceeded.


With reference to the respective area of application, the product range includes 4 groups:
- The group (Type KR-2; KF 1; KF 6; KF 12) is particularly suitable for the discharge and conveying of bulk material, e.g. for the addition of components in mixing installations. The small conveying drive is provided with a corresponding trough or pipe for this purpose.
- The Types eKF 1, eKF 6 and eKF 12 are examined vibration feeder drives for use in potentially explosive atmospheres certificated accordingly to ATEX-Directive 94/9/EG.
- The group (Type KF 0,3; KF 0,5; KF 0,7; KF 0,9) serves mainly as a drive of rails for the conveying of arranged parts, e.g. as transport or backed-up route sections between parts conveyor and downstream equipment and/or machine. In this case, a conveying rail is used on the small conveying drive, which is adapted exactly to the part to be transported.
- A variant of the group KF 0,3 to KF 0,9 is the "CR" design implementation e.g. for employment in the food or pharmaceuticals industry. These small conveying drives do not have any painted parts, they are easy to clean, resistant to ultraviolet light, alcohol and formalin, as well as suitable for the sterile sector. They are thus also provided with a trough or pipe for the conveying of bulk material.
Notes for the employment of construction-site finished working devices
- The bending and torsion-resistant design of the working device is a prerequisite for trouble-free functioning of small-scale conveyor equipment. In case of construction it is thus to be absoluy ensured that thin plates and low side panel heights (trough) corner edges or other bracings are provided in the case of large plate field dimensions.
- In case of exceeding the maximum value for the effective weight, the vibration amplitude of the drive must be reduced!
Standard working devices (length/width/height in mm) are available from storage.
Design

Trough of stainless steel 1.4301, electrochemically polished, open design implementation, rectangular conveying cross-section, free run-out in front.
Accessories
Appropriate standard storage containers of stainless steel are available for different small-scale conveyor equipment. The filling volume (9/25/50 liter) and the diameter of the run-out nozzles (mm 43/90/159) are assigned to the small-scale conveyor equipment according to the width of the respective standard trough. By means of height adjustment of the container, the layer thickness and thus the flow rate can be easily changed, while maintaining the same conveying speed.
The appropriate Vibtronic S power supply unit is necessary for all drives. These enable a change of the vibration amplitude (double amplitude) and thus the flow rate from almost 0% to 99.9%. With the design which uses a housing, the vibration amplitude adjuster and switch are built into the front panel; with the integrated design, the potentiometer is supplied separay.
With the employment of small-scale conveyor equipment in explosion-endangered spaces, the special conditions stipulated by the "Physical-Technical Federal Institution (PTB)" apply for the adapter units, with protection unit and motor control protection switch. However, in this case, either the complete adapter unit must be placed in a non-explosion-endangered space or pressure-proof enclosed. However, it is also possible to provide only the controls of switches and/or vibration amplitude adjusters pressure-proof encased and to install the adapter unit outside of the endangered space.
Parts Conveyor Equipment (Worm Conveyor)


AViTEQ parts conveyors for ordered arranging, individualizing and conveying are used in every case where mass parts have to be supplied to a magazine, a machine or to installation equipment, item for item, with a pre-determined orientation and time. AViTEQ has been the pioneer in Europe for more than 50 years in producing parts conveyor drives and devices.

Construction and operating mode
Parts conveyors are two-mass vibration systems, which are synchronized to be close to resonant condition. The drive part includes the elements for vibration generation, such as electromagnet and leaf spring packages. The arrangement of the simple leaf springs determines the feed direction. Parts conveyors, which convey in clockwise direction, are designated with "R" (clockwise running). Parts conveyors which convey in anti-clockwise direction are designated with "L" (anti-clockwise running). In the case of an order, it is absoluy necessary that the feed direction be indicated. The pot is connected with the drive and is easily detachable. For individual itemization and alignment of parts, special mounted equipment (baffle plates) in the pot is necessary. Optimal design and coordination of the two-mass vibration system guarantee a uniform conveying action, which is also independent of the pot filling. The parts conveyor is supported on rubber dampers. Vibrations are thus transmitted only weakly to the environment.
Pot and drive selection
The normal shape of the pots is cylindrical, in certain cases also cone or step-shaped. Such a pot is selected if parts tend to become jammed between spiral paths located over one another. The selection of the pot diameter depends of the size of the parts to be conveyed. As a rule, it can be assumed that the largest dimension of the part should not exceed approx. 1/6 of the pot base diameter. With this, the drive is also virtually determined. The replacement of pots with similar diameter, however, with different weight is easily possible. For this, corrections are to be carried out on the compensation weights according to operating instructions. Stainless steel (1.4301; 1.4404) is employed as a material for the parts conveyor pots. Pots with 100 mm diameter are additionally produced from polyamide or aluminum. According to requirement, the pots can be provided with different linings, such as e.g. polyurethane, conveying brush material or Teflon.
Orientation of parts by means of baffle plate equipment (aligning elements)
Parts which move upwards on the spiral conveyor are disordered at first. However, they are supposed to leave separay and, above all, with a compley pre-determined orientation at the discharge. This is achieved by means of special mounted equipment, also baffle plates. They have the effect that incorrectly aligned parts drop back into the pot or are brought to another location. The prerequisite for this, however, is that the shape and center of gravity of the part are suitable for such alignment. In most cases this applies, nevertheless the alignment possibilities should be considered as early as the construction stage of the individual components, which must be later mass processed. In this way, complicated and expensive baffle plate equipment can often be avoided.
Parts, which can be aligned with simple baffle plates, can be conveyed with parts conveyors without pot lining with speeds up to 15 cm/s, while, in the case of complicated mounted equipment, the useful conveying speed is considerably lower. The optimal speed can be continuously adjusted. The attainable discharge output quantity, however, is dependent not only on the conveying speed. Also the size and the percentage number of parts which arrive on the spiral already with the correct orientation, or which can be brought into the required orientation, are important.
So that sufficient parts are always available for an automatic-sequence processing step, a parts conveyor is adjusted to a slightly higher discharge output quantity. Most of the parts fall back into the pot through corresponding mounted equipment. If this is not possible because of the part geometry or because of the baffle plate equipment, the parts conveyor must then be temporarily switched off. The overflow control guarantees this automatically.
Accessories
Floor supports and sound insulation bonnets are frequently required accessories for parts conveyors. For all drives, an appropriate Vibtronic S power supply unit is necessary. These enable a change of the vibration amplitude and thus the conveying speed from almost 0% to 99.9%. Horn AC tachogenerators are remote transmitters which operate regardless of the direction of rotation. The AC output voltage which is proportional to the measured speed can be used for indication, registration or for control purposes. It is possible to connect several receivers to one tachogenerator.
Standard ranges are from 0 – 25 rpm up to 0 – 10000 rpm.
Standard instruments are protected according DIN 40050 class IP54. Instruments for shipbuilding industry have a special casing of seawater resistant light alloy and a cable entry with double earthing section. Depending on the required mounting method, the generator can be supplied with spigot (z), foot (f) or flange (fl). Special executions are possible.
For dangerous areas, certain types can be supplied to comply with explosion proof requirements (Ex) e G5.

Horn DC tachogenerators produce a DC voltage proportional to the speed of the input shaft. Depending on the direction of rotation of the driving machine, the voltage will alter. Hence the generators are normally used whenever the speed in each direction has to be indicated and/or controlled, i.e. mainly in shipbuilding and in mechanical engineering.
Owing to their low output of upper harmonics, these generators are used mainly for automatic control and regulation.

The three-phase tachogenerators produce a three-phase voltage proportional to the speed, or – by means of a built-in three-phase bridge rectifier – a DC voltage, the polarity of which does not depend on the direction of rotation.
This tachogenerator has small dimensions, needs absoluy no maintenance and has very little ripple; it is therefore particularly suitable as a signal converter of actual value in closed loop speed control systems.
The rotors of models EG 66… and EG 67… are not built into the generator casing but have to be rigidly fitted to the machine shaft.
The models EG 66… and EG 67… have even smaller dimensions and can be supplied with or without a built-in rectifier.
The shaft of model EG 71.3.2 is fitted with ball bearings.

These can then be combined to deliver solutions over 100kW. They are used in a wide variety of applications including test systems for semiconductor, automotive and component manufacturing.
